Human Kindness

Human kindness can be seen in a number of ways and number of forms. You just have to define the kindness. Just like the very meaning and definition of beauty changes from person to person, so does the meaning and form of Human Kindness makes a deliberate change altogether.

Few of the common instances of Human Kindness seen in the routine daily life include, saying Hi to a stranger; or wishing good luck to the stranger; giving alms to those who need them; helping poor by giving them food etc.

The very purpose of Human Kindness is to help people in whatever form or whatever way you can help them. It is not necessary that you help fellow humans in cash only. If you can show your goodwill gesture to them, it means you are showing Human Kindness to the fellow humans, and it is what one desires in Human Kindness.

There are many positive effects of Human Kindness, and these effects are not only felt by the taker but also the giver. The effects can be psychological, and physical. In case of psychological effects, the giver feels light and good at heart. A feeling of exhilaration and euphoria comes automatically, and the giver really starts feeling the difference.
Sometimes a person who is kind to the other fellow human likes talking about his family and friends. This will initiate a ripple effect and a positive feeling will be generated.

The physical effect of doing Human Kindness can be seen in the form of mental relaxation. Here, it is seen, if you help somebody who has been rendered homeless as the result of natural calamity or for monetary purposes, you get to know how relieved you feel. Your body energy invigorates, and you feel all the more different. Not only heart, but also your body feels light. The indications are of doing good to others is felt
immediately, and you know right from your heart and mind that you are doing some real good to fellow humans.

It is not necessary that you need to show your kindness at larger levels. To begin with, you can even show little kindness to a poor kid crying on the road by giving him or her piece of chocolate. Likewise, you can also show your kindness towards the beggar by giving him food or pair of shoes, or complete dress. The idea is to help living beings. Make the fellow human beings feel comfortable in whatever you can. Remember, human
kindness can be rendered by humans only, and not by anybody else. Therefore, humans should respect other humans and they should care for the interests of the others as honestly as they can.

“When You’re Different”

I’ve always been curious about a lot of things. I read a lot of books and magazines. I ask questions. I like to find out information so I’m not blind to certain things.

When I decided to go back to college I was working at a place where it seems like it would be a good place to retire from. Well the workplace changed along with the economy. So I went back to college at a time when I could appreciate it more. So after about 2 years I graduated with a college degree. I know what I wanted to do I just had to find a way to accomplish it.

After reading books and literature on entrepreneurship, I knew that I wanted to have my own business. I purchased a franchise and it has taught me a lot. In some ways it almost feels like I still work for “the man” but now I can select what time of day I do that. Clothes 4 Cures is not a franchise and I have built this brand from the ground up. Chasing this dream made me different from some of the people who I worked with and hung out with.

Building Clothes 4 Cures makes me feel like I am doing good and making some type of contribution to the world. Sometimes when I look at the logo, or the pictures from the photo shoot, or the good comments from well wishers, I smile. I smile because I did it all on my own. Of course there was Dino, the photographer, that took great pictures. Rick, the SCORE rep, that told me “you can do this.” Justin, one of my best friends, that showed up after a great concert on a Saturday morning to brave the cold to give me his support and pose for pictures. And my kids, that think my t-shirt designs “are cool.

I have some great people as part of my team. Even the ones that I did not mention (i.e., my Facebook friends, Shequita, and others.) They have helped me to make some decisions that I will look back on and remember. I always felt different working at one of the largest retail chains. I thought differently. I acted differently. I even dated differently. I knew that I wanted to know more about what life could offer me.

Being different from the norm can have its good times and bad. I’m just glad that I have taken a course that is off the beaten path to create one of my own. πŸ˜€

“Why I Do What I Do?”

I worked in retail for over 10 years. After deciding to go back to college and get my degree, I met some great professors that encouraged me to think “outside the box.” I never really thought I could own my own business but being a student at the University of Phoenix taught me to think outside of just having a regular 9-5 job.

I have been a small franchise owner for over 3 years but I always wanted to have a chance to create a company from the ground up. After some personal issues that arose in my family’sΒ  life, I got the idea to start Clothes 4 Cures. Starting the company would allow me to live the dream of building a company with my own mission, goals, and success stories. It would also allow me to help out a cause that is important to me.

I departed from a job working as an Assistant Manager for a very well known paint store. No longer would I have the benefits, a regular paycheck, and a 401K. What I would have is the ability to see my kids grow up and I be an active parent in that. To be able to wake up and not have to do the morning rush to get toΒ  a job that I felt lost in. Or, go through all the highs and lows to make my company Clothes 4 Cures a reality.

Of course there are some days that I do get scared and wonder, “What the hell did I do?” Then there is something to make me remember why I do what I do. My kids will say something that I would have missed if I had been at a regular job. Or someone gives me a compliment on how they like the idea of my company and my courage for starting it.

We all have different paths in life. Whichever path you take make sure it’s one that will allow you to know what you can become. Until next time…LIVE! πŸ™‚

“Friends Along The Way”

Friendship love and truth

I have always been a person that has tried to have an open mind. I try to get to know a variety of people because you never know when you may need that person. I’m grateful for all the people who I have met along the way in my life thus far. I have a couple of great people in my life but one in particular has taught me a valuable lesson about friendship.

This person has taught me to come outside my square and see some things that I needed to acknowledge within myself. I have learned to accept the things that I cannot change and know that I am a good person that someone can care about.Β  Sometimes what I may be feeling about my friend is misunderstood by me because I’m not speaking up. Slowly, I am learning to communicate in a way in which we understand each other better. Which makes us closer as friends.

We all have our faults but at the end of the day it is about what you can and will allow yourself to put up with. Friends put up with the crazy stuff that you may say and do. They tell you things that can heal your broken heart or make you soar to new heights. Sometimes they can be more of a family member to you then the ones that are related by blood.

Every now and then you may not understand a friends actions. It may hurt like hell because you think that maybe they are not a good person like you perceived. That’s when you may have to stop and realize we are all humans. Humans with different thoughts, feelings, and views and if you care for that friend, you talk about it. Being silent and holding bad feelings never got anyone, anywhere.

Friends come in all shapes, sizes, and color. They can be young with fresh ideas or old with a lot of wisdom. Whatever the case, care about them for who they are and love them because tomorrow is never promised.

Take care of each other. πŸ™‚
